School Uniform

The school uniform is:

  • White shirt with school tie
  • Sky blue/white poloshirt
  • Grey/black/navy trousers
  • Grey/black/navy skirt/pinafore
  • Navy blue cardigan/swaetshirt/hooded sweatshirt
  • Black shoes
  • Primary 7s can wear a red poloshirt and red sweatshirt

Sweatshirts, cardigans, polo shirts and ties with the school logo are available for purchase at and search for Thorntree Primary. Cost of the School Day is important to us at Thorntree, and so a plain navy blue jumper/cardigan, available to purchase at local supermarkets, is acceptable for uniform too.

It is expected that all children attending Thorntree Primary School will adhere to this dress code.

PE Kit

It is important that pupils come prepared to learn and for PE this requires appropriate clothing. All jewellery should be removed and long hair tied back.

There are forms of dress that are unacceptable in school, such as items of clothing which:

  • potentially encourage factions (such as football colours)
  • could cause offence (such as anti-religious symbolism or political slogans)
  • could cause health and safety difficulties (such as loose fitting clothing, jewellery)
  • could cause damage to flooring (hard shoes like wellies and boots)
  • carry advertising particularly for alcohol or tobacco
  • could be used to inflict damage on other pupils.
